The Simpsons: Hit & Run: 10 Most Memorable Cars | Taza Khabre

While free car games are sometimes worth everything, it doesn’t hurt to shell out a few bucks for a paid game. And The Simpsons: Hit and Run seems to be one of those titles. Back in the good old 2000s, we unexpectedly got our hands on a Simpsons racing game that packed open-world Springfield into a surprisingly neat package. While The Simpsons: Hit and Run is currently unavailable for digital download, you can still get a copy from Amazon or eBay.

The original game was supposed to be racing through and through, but going on foot and pulling off shenanigans was something that even Matt Groening enjoyed. The game featured many iconic vehicles from the show. Some of these cars looked downright ridiculous with a very simple naming scheme. But they certainly hit the spot where it mattered, albeit with a few compromises here and there to balance things out. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the 10 most memorable cars from The Simpsons: Hit and Run.

10 Family sedan

via The Simpsons Hit and Run Wiki

The family sedan is one of the first vehicles you can purchase in The Simpsons: Hit and Run. It’s the iconic pink sedan we all know and love from the TV series, albeit with a few minor changes. Instead of users enjoying the base sedan from the show, you can drive the four-door convertible version. Only recently did the showrunners reveal that Homer’s car is a 1986 Plymouth Junkerolla.

The family sedan is a decent entry-level car that will come in handy in all sorts of scenarios. Although it has a very low top speed, the handling is incredible, making it easy to maneuver around corners. Durability is respectable, but acceleration could be better.

Of course, Bart’s Ferrini is on the list, and it’s an obvious nod to Ferrari’s line of supercars. And the rear lights indicate where the developers got their inspiration from. Making his way to level six, Bart is tasked with driving this super awesome supercar that’s simply incredible to drive. With this machine, you will definitely be able to perform incredible tricks. While the Ferrini comes in red by default, you can also get a black variant with codes, but that’s all cosmetic.

The Speed Rocket is one of the coolest cars in The Simpsons: Hit and Run. And you have to find it in the first level of the game to unlock it. But honestly, it’s pretty easy to come across if you’re willing to explore the entire first level of Springfield. Just run into the Quimby mansion and you’ll see it parked right on the street.

Where this vehicle exceeds speed, it cuts several corners. It is extremely vulnerable to head-on collisions. The Speed Rocket has low armor and heavy collisions will almost disable it.

7 Cola truck

via The Simpsons Hit and Run Wiki

The Cola Truck is no GMC Sierra, but it’s definitely one of the toughest vehicles in the game. You can ram it anywhere and handle high speed collisions – walking away in one piece. Although the acceleration of this truck is lower, it has a decent top speed, that is if you can deal with the terrible handling.

Judging by its appearance alone, the Cola truck is quite menacing. It boasts a satellite dish on top, head-to-toe black paint, and two powerful exhaust pipes that blast thick smoke. This truck is featured in level 5, where the APU investigates Buzz Cola, only to discover that Cola’s truck belongs to a museum.

6 Zombie car

via The Simpsons Hit and Run Wiki

Hot Rods are pretty neat, and the developers upped the ante with this vehicle. The Zombie Car looks like an extremely sharp hot rod painted pink. To complete the aesthetic, you get some spikes and a skull ornament on the front grille. Driving this vehicle is an evil eye. Thick smoke billows out the exhaust pipes with skulls that double as headlights. You can get a zombie car at level 7 from a zombie in the graveyard.

Driving around in a zombie car is great. While it’s expensive, it’s understandable given how fast it is. But with speed comes a bit of vulnerability, and the Zombie Car just isn’t that strong. But learn it and it will become your vehicle of choice in The Simpsons: Hit and Run.

5 Knight’s boat

Knight Boat is literally a darkened boat on wheels. And given the absurdity of this vehicle, it’s unlockable. Even veterans of the series could not notice the existence of this memorable car. To find it, you need to make your way to the Goblex ship on level 3 and search the containers in front.

In case you didn’t know, the Knight Boat was featured on The Simpsons and is a parody of KITT from Knight Rider. While it has four rocket boosters for some speed, it doesn’t do well in water, which is kind of a bummer.

4 Hover Car

via The Simpsons Hit and Run Wiki

The Hover Car is Professor Frink’s default vehicle in The Simpsons: Hit and Run. And this, to put it mildly, is very cool. While it may not have autonomous control, it does have a cooler. Seeing a car floating above the ground, with electricity running through the rear engine of this coupe, brought joy to many of us as children. But the Hover Car had a few tricks up its sleeve that made it even more memorable.

When driving at high speeds, the Hover Car starts to become invisible, which doesn’t help much, other than making the car look even cooler. The Hover Car could easily be unlocked at level 5 after completing the Kinky Frinky mission.

The Globex Super Villain car is one of the coolest vehicles in The Simpsons: Hit and Run, and it closely resembles William Burge’s art car. This car is decked out in solid orange, with multiple air vents up front, a two-door configuration, and some wicked headlights. You get a powerful engine at the rear with three exhausts coming out the sides.

Players can unlock the Globex Super Villain car by the end of level 6. While driving Bart in this level, you must buy this car from Kern. You have to destroy all the benches of laser weapons in a very short time.

2 Mr. Burns’ limousine

via The Simpsons Hit and Run Wiki

Mr. Burn has quite a collection of cars and even a 1912 Stutz Bearcat. But in the game we got an absurd limousine. While Mr. Burns’ limo looks a little underwhelming compared to the other cars on the list, it makes up for its looks with its performance and handling. With Smithers in the driver’s seat and curtains in the passenger compartment, it truly looks like a luxury car we’ve never seen before.

You can unlock this vehicle by completing the Burning Tires bonus mission. You have to help Smithers find some things for Mr. Burns. And depending on what level you play, Smithers can get in the driver’s seat!

Despite the unpleasant name of the vehicle, the Open Wheel Race Car is the fastest. Even though it can’t set any records at the Nürburgring, this Formula 1-inspired race car is one of the best cars in The Simpsons: Hit and Run.
