Wonder no more: Mario’s new voice has revealed itself

Nintendo

Genshin Impact voice actor Kevin Afghani revealed himself as the new voice actor for Mario and Luigi Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

Earlier this year, we learned that longtime Mario voice actor Charles Martinet would be stepping down from his role and becoming a Mario Ambassador. At the time, Nintendo said that they would not reveal the voice cast before the game launched; instead, it encourages people to check the game’s credits when it is released. But this doesn’t stop people from speculating. Many thought he would often voice Iron Man Mick Wingert, but Wingert denied that was true. Now, Kevin Afghani has revealed himself as the new voice of Mario and Luigi one week before launch Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

“Very proud to be able to voice Mario and Luigi in Super Mario Bros. Wonder,” Afghani wrote on Twitter. “Thanks to Nintendo for inviting me to the Flower Kingdom!” Afghani is best known as the voice of Arnold in Genshin Impact. This is certainly the most prominent gaming role Afghani has ever had, and he may well become the new name we associate with Mario Bros. for years to come.

IGN corroborated Afghani claims, and we also reached out to Nintendo to confirm that Afghani is the new voice of Mario and Luigi in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. We will update this article when we get a response. Super Mario Bros. Wonder launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on October 20.
