Apple is investigating an issue with the Apple Watch display

Some Apple Watch owners are experiencing display flashing or flickering issues when Always On mode is enabled.

The good news is that Apple is now investigating this issue, based on the contents of an internal service memo shared with Apple Authorized Service Providers and spotted by MacRumors.

The memo, reportedly sent on Tuesday, does not say which Apple Watch models are experiencing the issue, although reports suggest that the newly released Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models running watchOS 10 and later are the most affected. impact.

Dissatisfied users have shared their experiences on various Apple-focused forums, and some have described the problem as “jitter” or “random flickering.”

The memo also mentions an issue where complications on the watch face temporarily turn pink, an issue that has also been described by a number of Apple Watch owners, MacRumors said.

Apple told service providers that they do not need to take affected watches in for repairs and should instead tell customers to ensure that the software on their Apple Watch is always up to date, advice that suggests Apple will roll out a fix soon – perhaps as part of watchOS 10.1 , which will probably be released to the public as early as next week.

Until then, affected users who find this issue annoying can turn off the Always On display by going to Settings on their Apple Watch, selecting Display & Brightness, then Always On.

The Always On feature dims the screen when not in use and turns on when the device is picked up. It was introduced with the Apple Watch Series 5, which the company released in 2019. It also works with the Apple Watch Ultra and Ultra 2, though not with the company’s more affordable Apple Watch SE.

Despite a lot of pre-launch testing, problems with new software can sometimes arise as soon as it is available. Apple recently rolled out a software fix for the new iPhone 15 Pro after some users complained that the handset was getting hotter than expected.
