Spy shots of the 2024 KTM 1290 Super Duke R have been released and they reveal some exciting new design elements that take this naked bike up another notch.

KTM’s most powerful Duke iterations to date

It looks like KTM has taken all the lessons learned from MotoGP and channeled them into creating the most powerful Duke yet, debuting the 2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R and R Evo. Thanks to the engine 1350 cu. With nearly 190 horsepower and 107 lb-ft of torque, it’s not just the power that makes the 1390 Super Duke one of the most powerful dirt bikes around, as it’s equipped with one of the most active suspension systems on the market.

KTM enhances the performance of the 1390 Super Duke R and R Evo with the latest generation of WP Semi-Active Technology (SAT). It features electronically controlled solenoid valves for variable damping controlled via the SCU (Suspension Control Unit). Rides can access settings on the dashboard with a choice of five modes: Auto, Comfort, Rain, Street and Sport.

Not only does this active suspension allow the rider to choose ride comfort or track-ready stiffness, it also provides the added benefit of Performance and Track modes to fully customize each ride with the Suspension Pro package (for 1390 Super Duke R Evo). This provides additional benefits: a lap timer, telemetry statistics and additional engine brake control.

KTM 1390 Super Duke R and R Evo Design: Performance First

KTM is also refining the design of the iconic Duke, adding all-new LED headlights, new tank spoilers and adding fenders to the 2024 1390 Super Duke R and R Evo. There’s a reduced subframe cover, and while the new Duke looks more aggressive than ever, it’s lighter and lower.

With a redesigned air intake and air box, KTM also modified the fuel tank, increasing its capacity to 4.62 gallons. This increases the range to approximately 287 miles on a full tank. More attention has been paid to brighter panels and better exterior lighting, so the headlights stay on even after the ignition is switched off, helping to park easily in dark places. Automatic position adjustment and daytime running lights also complement this feature.

In addition, the 1390 Super Duke rides on lightweight MICHELIN Power GP tires with two-component technology and the new, fully adjustable WP APEX shock absorber. Both models are presented in selected “30 Years of Herzog” colorways with large orange accents.
