Dragon’s Dogma 2: release date speculation, trailer, gameplay and more

In a world where even the smallest audience is treated to such a sequel Neo: The World Ends With You And No More Heroes 3, there’s basically no game that doesn’t have a chance of returning in some form. In one recent example, a small but eager fan base has been waiting patiently for the hugely ambitious sequel Dragon’s Dogma. This action RPG emerged after stiff competition in 2012, and despite having great mechanics and systems plus re-releases, it never achieved mainstream success. Because its creators and directors continued to work on other games, the series was considered dead for a long time.

Soon after Capcom announced that they would be celebrating the 10th anniversary Dragon’s Dogma, fans immediately predicted the announcement of a sequel. After all, why else would Capcom celebrate the anniversary of a franchise it has no intention of continuing? Turns out, we were all right. Dragon’s Dogma 2 finally being worked on. The excitement from this announcement has gone beyond fans of the original, leaving many wondering why they should be excited about this sequel. For all that and more, here’s everything we know Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Trailers

Dragon’s Dogma 2 The reveal came during a special 10th anniversary video for the first game hosted by Itsuno. In the video, he expressed his gratitude to all the fans and shared details about how the original title was created.

You can check out the video for yourself, but this is a brief history of Itsuno’s career and inspiration. It’s all very interesting but not entirely relatable Dragon’s Dogma 2.

However, at the end of the video, they make their important revelation Dragon’s Dogma 2 via T-shirts with the game logo. Itsuno said he was, “Sorry to keep you waiting. Dragon’s Dogma 2 under development!”

While this may seem odd, this isn’t the first time Capcom has revealed a game in this way. Resident Evil 2: Remake was also initially revealed on a T-shirt, so perhaps this is a new marketing tactic for the company.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 – First Trailer

The first real trailer arrived in May 2023. It gave a glimpse of the world, some of the characters, and even gameplay. Nothing solid is shown in this story, except that Arisen seems to be a major player in the world.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Show 2023

The November exhibition is dedicated specifically to Dragon’s Dogma 2 through many aspects of the game. The world will once again be filled with NPCs to talk to and undertake quests, as well as creatures drawn from the myths of all cultures to fight, such as drakes, dumbahans, medusae, griffins, and more. The main plot is still unclear but seems much more complex in terms of politics, kingdoms, evil dragons, and destiny.

As the title suggests, the action trailer does not provide any new information regarding the story. However, at least it shows off some new locations and monsters to kill.

CAPCOM

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be developed on the RE Engine, which supports all Resident Evil game titles RE: 7 so on, as well street fighter 6 and much more.

The footage in the first trailer looks exactly as fans expected Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be. There are big monsters, big environments, lots of weapons and buildings, and cities to explore. The ability to climb and attack these beasts like mini-Giant shadow is back and looking more fun than ever. We even saw a small amount of destructible environments and what looked like magic to create objects that could cross gaps.

In addition to your traditional sword, plenty of magical options are on display, including massive spells and a bow that shoots homing magic arrows.

Some outlets may preview Dragon’s Dogma 2 before launch and report on the game in progress. Highlighted new features include new ways Pawns can help players in the environment, such as providing encouragement for climbing ledges. Combat appears largely unchanged, with light and heavy attacks, plus four skills or spells you can activate. The new mechanic, called Covation Action, is unique to your character’s job, such as fighters getting blocks and thieves dodging.

One of the new summons shown early was Trickster. This class can summon illusions to confuse enemies or buff pawns. The other is Warfarer, who is a mix of strength and magic type characters. They will wield large swords but are also capable of casting powerful magic and creating illusions, and even wield weapons from other occupations. This Summon can only be used by the player character and is described as a “Prime Summon”.

The character creator (and pawns) will return Dragon’s Dogma 2 with more choices than ever before.

Multiplayer

Capcom

If Dragon’s Dogma 2 Like the first, multiplayer will be completely asynchronous. However, if Capcom wants to go beyond the pawn system and let players work together, we’re all for it. At the very least, multiplayer will probably be an optional feature, as in Soul game. We see big parties in battle and even some small celebratory interactions between characters, so it’s possible there will be full cooperation.
