Interior design and technology

The interior of the eighth-generation Volkswagen Golf has caused controversy due to the many touch-sensitive capacitive touch buttons on the dashboard and steering wheel. But, despite this, the cabin is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate up to four passengers. The central transmission tunnel for the four-wheel drive system is quite high, making it difficult to use the rear center seat. The external visibility of the Golf R is excellent, and the large door openings make it easy to get in and out.

The interior of the Honda Civic Type R will never seem cramped to anyone. The Civic has plenty of rear head, shoulder and legroom and can seat four passengers. The dashboard has a very nice attractive design and all the controls are easy to use. Outward visibility is also very good in the Honda. However, while rear visibility could be better, it’s never a problem thanks to the rearview camera. However, with signature red seats, upholstery and carpets, the Type R stands out from the base Civic.
