The McLaren F1 is becoming a “must-have” for any serious car collection, but with over 100 produced in all guises, one can be hard to come by. Moreover, when someone does appear for sale, they bring a whole fortune. This early silver example was auctioned at Bonhams back in 2017 and brought in a substantial sum of $15,620,000. No matter who you are, it’s not pocket money.

The owner of this example, chassis 044, was not publicly known for some time, but then Lewis was spotted behind the wheel of the car, and thus the mystery was revealed. It really is his ideal car, as Lewis has always proudly worn the number 44 on his F1 cars, so the stars really aligned for this most important purchase.

Lewis Hamilton is often seen in a powerful Mercedes-AMG

Lewis Hamilton is reported to own these Mercedes

  • Mercedes-AMG Project One
  • Mercedes SLS AMG
  • Mercedes-AMG GTR safety car
  • Mercedes-AMG G63 6×6

They may not necessarily stay forever, but Lewis Hamilton is getting free cars. Being a household name with more than 36 million followers on Instagram clearly has its perks, especially for Mercedes-Benz, which can lend it flagship AMG models for some impressive PR.

Although he is happy to spend his own money on Mercedes, as you can see by looking at his eclectic collection. Naturally, there are plenty of high-powered machines to be found, such as the SLS AMG and the G63 6×6, but perhaps more interesting is the Mercedes-AMG GTR Safety Car that Lewis has tucked away in his collection. Just imagine the memories this car brings back for Lewis. He’s certainly had some tense laps riding the back of the same car during his World Championship fight.

Why Lewis Hamilton Hoon’s rental Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R didn’t fare well

Recently, Lewis Hamilton posted a video of himself doing some hard work on a Nissan R34. However, it appears that he has clearly breached the lease agreement.

  • Ferrari LaFerrari
  • Mercedes-AMG Project One
  • McLaren P1
  • Pagani Zonda 760LH

Most gearbox owners like to think they need speed, but how many supercar owners can honestly say they are talented enough to use the full potential of their exclusive cars? One such owner who can is Lewis, and he’s clearly keen to use his skills on both the road and the track.

At one point or another, Lewis has owned a Pagani Zonda 760LH, a Ferrari LaFerrari, a McLaren P1 and, of course, a Mercedes-AMG Project One. The latter features the same 1.6-liter F1 engine that powers his old race car, so he may feel more at home than most owners in this formidable hypercar. The F1 engine produces 1,049 horsepower and is capable of speeds of up to 219 mph.

The Pagani Zonda owned by Lewis was sold and scrapped

Just as the 044 McLaren chassis fits Lewis’ racing number, the ‘LH’ in the name of this Pagani 760LH is also perfect for Mr LH himself. However, this time it is not a happy coincidence, rather the LH means that this car was always meant for Lewis and was built especially for him.

As a model, the price of the Pagani Zonda has skyrocketed in recent years, and Lewis took advantage of this when he auctioned the car a few years ago. He managed to make more than 11 million dollars when he sold the car. The new owner had an accident while driving through picturesque Wales and ended up driving the multi-million dollar Pagani into a wall – and the entire incident was captured on a video recorder. Fortunately, he was fine, but suffering from Pagani’s damaged ego and sick appearance. Perhaps this 750-horsepower V12 supercar should have remained in Hamilton’s capable hands after all.

Here’s what we just learned about Lewis Hamilton’s work as a teenager

Lewis Hamilton met automotive YouTuber Supercar Blondie and went on a road trip in a Mercedes-AMG G Wagen through Dubai.

Lewis has a passion for classic muscle cars

  • 1966 Shelby Cobra 427
  • 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500

Judging by the collection of high-powered exotic sports and supercars that precede this entry, you could be forgiven for thinking that Lewis has no interest in old cars. However, the British F1 superstar reportedly has a soft spot for iconic muscle cars and has two of the best and most desirable models in his extensive collection.

Even Lewis can’t resist the temptation of a Ford Mustang, so the champion bought one of the most desirable models – a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500. These iconic muscle cars can easily fetch north of $300,000, though his next Shelby would probably cost even more. The Mustang is joined by the Cobra 427, released a year earlier. The Shelby Cobra is undoubtedly one of the coolest and most recognizable American cars ever produced, so it’s no surprise that Lewis felt compelled to add one to his impressive collection.
