Hell Diver 2 has been a huge success, with numerous armies ready to spread democracy throughout Super Earth. With a heavy emphasis on co-op play, the matchmaking issues are far worse than any bugs or robots you might encounter. As has become commonplace nowadays, Hell Diver 2 players have experienced some issues when matchmaking fails to join the lobby. While we wait for developer Arrowhead to work hard to officially fix this issue, there may be a few tactics you can try to get you back into action.
Before offering some potential solutions, please know that these are workarounds and not official solutions to the problem. Arrowhead has stated that in it official dispute that they are aware of the problem and are working to fix it. However, if you can’t wait to get back to busting bugs with your friends, here are some methods that some players have used successfully.
The first two easy methods are to try turning off Crossplay. Hell Diver 2 is on PlayStation 5 and PC, with Crossplay enabled by default. Disabling it in your settings, restarting the game, and trying to use matchmaking again has allowed some players to find matches. Another, less elegant way for some players to successfully resolve the error is to simply spam Quick play options until they are allowed to pass.
Another strange fix discovered on Reddit involves logging into the game, applying an SOS beacon, and then logging out of the match. When you return to the ship, you may be able to join other players.
These options are complicated workarounds and not exact fixes, but they are your best options for now. Try this if you’re frustrated with constant matchmaking failures, but you might want to wait for a patch for a real fix.
