Our rendering of the C8 Chevrolet Corvette Super Wagon shows off the smart sports car alter ego | Taza Khabre

There aren’t many high-performance wagons in the United States. The only options in this space are the Audi RS6 Avant and the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo. None of the “big three” American car brands, GMFord and Chrysler no longer have cars with this type of body in their range.

While there have been a bunch of really cool American wagons in the past, unfortunately their lack of popularity has forced these brands to shut them down. But what if one of these brands brought back a fast wagon to compete with European models in this niche segment?

HotCars digital artist Rostyslav Prokop builds on this idea and creates an impressive interpretation of the C8 Chevrolet Corvette like an evil super wagon. This digital concept transforms the mid-engined American sports car into a practical, smart four-door with great performance under the hood.

This C8 Corvette Super Wagon digital concept looks beautiful

Prokop’s rendering envisions a high-performance wagon with the soul of a C8 Corvette. The front and rear of this concept are largely identical to a sports car, and its body is stretched in the shape of a four-door family truck.

The hood has the same muscular design as a sports car. But Prokop added a new air intake in its center. The shape of the headlight remained unchanged, as did the design of the front bumper cover. The lower half aerodynamics are as aggressive as the original model, with a lower splitter than the Z06.

The front and rear tracks of this concept are much wider than the sports car, which is noticeable thanks to the elongated wings and quarter panels. Behind them hides a set of stunning multi-spoke wheels wrapped in low-profile tires. The side profile is quite streamlined. The design is clear and beautiful, with bright characteristic lines. The rocker panels are massive and have an integrated side skirt. This C8 wagon also features functional rails and a roof box.

The rear view of this Chevy super wagon is also pretty mean. The rear lights of the C8 fit perfectly into the design of the sloping roof. There is a small spoiler on the roof and another subtle spoiler at the bottom of the rear window. Like the front, the rear bumper cover is also quite aggressive. The design is identical to the C8 Corvette, but Prokop has tweaked the design slightly to give this concept a unique look. The space for the number plate holder and the two air ducts that surround it are the same as in a sports car. But Prokop restyled the lower half of the bumper.

It has a new diffuser design. The centrally mounted exhaust tips are now located on the far edges in two sets. Between them there is a huge hole for the passage of air from under the car. With the aggressive styling of the C8 Corvette, this concept wagon makes the sharp exterior design of the RS6 Avant look sleek. When placed side by side with the Audi, we’re sure this Chevy will get a lot more attention.

This super wagon is equipped with a hybrid power plant C8 E-Ray with a capacity of 655 hp

But the design is not the only thing that will attract attention to this C8 super wagon. The V8 engine under its hood, with a nice C8 Corvette exhaust note, will also play a big role. If Chevrolet ever builds a Corvette-based wagon, it will likely share a powertrain with the sports car.

The C8 comes with three transmission options. The entry-level Stingray received a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine. The engine develops 490 hp. and 470 lb-ft of peak torque. It connects to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.

Chevy offers the Stingray with the optional Z51 Performance Package. This adds a few extra benefits to the sports car, such as a limited-slip differential on the rear axle, better brakes, aggressive tires, suspension upgrades and improved engine cooling. The package also increases the V8’s power output to 495 hp, while peak torque remains the same.

Above the Stingray sits the C8 E-Ray, the first Corvette with a hybrid powertrain. The E-Ray comes with the same 6.2-liter pusher V8 as the Stingray, but power output is bumped up to a full 495 hp. The engine drives the rear wheels through the same eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Key facts about the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette C8

  • The first mid-engined Corvette
  • The first Corvette with all-wheel drive and a hybrid transmission (E-Ray)
  • The LT6 V8 in the Corvette Z06 comes with a flat-plane crank
  • The C8 Corvette features Magna Ride adaptive suspension
  • Driver-oriented interior with 12-inch digital instrument cluster
  • The C8 Corvette is equipped with an 8-inch infotainment unit

Unlike the Stingray, the C8 E-Ray is equipped with a 160 hp electric motor that drives the front wheels, bringing total power output to 655 hp. The V8’s maximum torque of 470 lb-ft is sent to the rear wheels, while 175 lb-ft of torque is sent exclusively to the front via the electric motor, making the C8 the first Corvette with all-wheel drive.

The Z06 sits at the top of the C8 pyramid and is powered by a flat-crank 5.5-liter non-supercharged V8. The engine produces 670 hp. and 460 lb-ft of peak torque. An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission is also standard on the C8 Z06, with power sent to the rear wheels.

For the C8 Corvette super wagon, we’d go with the C8 E-Ray hybrid all-wheel drive. Total power of 655 hp. would be enough to compete with the Audi RS6 Avant, which is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 with 621 hp. In addition, four-wheel drive will provide a high-performance all-weather station wagon.

The C8 Corvette Shooting Brake also looks pretty awesome

The stunning high-performance wagon with C8 Corvette styling and power isn’t the only rendering based on the sports car. HotCars digital artist Timothy Edry Emmanuel came up with the amazing C8 shooting brake concept you see here.

In addition to changing the exterior of the current-generation Corvette to a shooting brake shape, Emmanuel also returned it to its original front-engine, rear-wheel-drive setup. Under the hood of this two-door wagon is the LT2 V8 from the Corvette Stingray.

You can admire the pusher engine through the viewing screen built into the hood. Similar to Prokop’s rendering of the C8 super wagon, this Shooting Brake concept has wild exterior styling. While it loses the added practicality of a tailgate, it makes up for it in style thanks to its coupe-like shape.

This is what a Chevrolet Corvette SUV could look like

While the C8 Corvette-based super wagon and Shooting Brake may not make it to production, Chevrolet is reportedly working on a Corvette SUV. According to a report from Muscle Cars and Trucks, it probably is in the future, we will see an all-electric SUV based on the Corvette.

But what would a Corvette SUV look like? Timothy Edry Emmanuel has the answer for you in the form of the evil 4×4 digital concept you see here. Instead of imagining it as a soft roader like the current lineup of powerful SUVs, he turns it into a rally-inspired coupe with massive all-terrain tires. It’s still too early to comment on what form the Corvette-based SUV will take. But if it is anything like our rendering, it will definitely be an SUV with the most demanding characteristics.
