The 2025 Toyota Camry comes standard with Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system, along with lighter and more compact electric motors that produce more power and improved performance than the previous hybrid system. Combined with Toyota’s On-Demand electronic all-wheel drive previously used in the 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, it makes an impressive 232 net horsepower, beating the current-generation mechanical all-wheel drive system by 30 hp.
On-Demand electronic four-wheel drive has been adapted to work flawlessly with the hybrid system. Electronically controlled all-wheel drive automatically detects and distributes torque to the front and rear wheels depending on driving conditions. This helps maintain acceleration, handling and stability when driving on slippery roads such as snow. The Camry’s retuned suspension aims to improve overall response and aid in handling.
